Microblogging is a short way of communication shared in an online platform through a variety of websites (Carpenter, 2015). Posts can consist of text, video, images, audio, or hyperlinks (American College of Education, 2021). Some advantages of microblogging are the reduced time to create content, receiving short chunks of information, and the ability to share time-sensitive information (Carpenter, 2015). Because microblogging platforms are made to be quick and simple to use, one can immediately update a group or followers who also use the service with information that must be shared right away (Gao & Li, 2017). Some examples of microblogging platforms include Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
